Dunlap Resident Offers $300 Reward for Missing Cat 'Hot Rod'

DUNLAP, Tenn. — Sueanne Johnson is reaching out for help in finding her missing cat, Hot Rod, who vanished from her home near Highways 127 and 111 on November 24th.

Hot Rod is a black and gray male tabby, just 1.5 years old, well-known for sticking close by and coming when called.

This friendly, vocal companion shares a close bond with Johnson, and his sudden disappearance has left her deeply concerned.

A $300 reward is being offered for information that helps bring Hot Rod home.

If you've seen him or know anything about his whereabouts, contact Sueanne Johnson at suannejohnson1991@gmail.com.

As locals gather for the City of Dunlap Christmas Parade and the Very Cherry Christmas event on December 6th, residents are urged to keep watch for Hot Rod and support their neighbor.

Every effort can bring Hot Rod back where he belongs.

Northern Lights Illuminate Tennessee Valley Skies

Residents throughout the Tennessee Valley enjoyed a rare sight as the Northern Lights brought brilliant colors to the night sky this week.

The Aurora Borealis was visible farther south than usual after a “severe” geomagnetic storm watch was issued by the Space Weather Prediction Center.

Communities in Grundy County, Sweetwater, and Ooltewah reported seeing vivid greens and purples shimmering overhead.

Locals gathered in open fields and outside their homes, marveling at the breathtaking spectacle.

Photographers quickly captured memorable images, which spread across social media and sparked widespread excitement.

With the sun at a peak in its 11-year cycle, experts say more auroras may be visible soon.

Residents are urged to watch forecasts for another chance to witness this stunning natural phenomenon.
